Let's Make Music

Music can be a great way to motivate and engage with your child, the multi-sensory experience is perfect for all children as music is non-verbal.  Music is also a rich and beautiful way to connect with your child and deepen your bond. Why not try:

  • Singing to your child throughout the day, do they have a favourite song you can sing with them?

  • Moving and dancing with them to recorded music

  • Using simple instruments, they can be homemade, such as rhythm sticks to create your own music or jam along to records.

Here are some other ideas of ways to get involved with music making at home.

Do you enjoy singing and making music with other people?

The MAC-Soundabout Inclusive Choir for the West Midlands welcomes young people of all abilities up to the age of 25 and is focussed on removing barriers from those with severe and profound learning disabilities being able to participate musically.

The choir will meet and sing together every two weeks via an online video-conferencing platform.
