Horse Riding

Children enjoying horse riding session

After school on a Thursday evening four or five pupils take part in Riding for the Disabled at the Mill Riding Stables in Pattingham. Each course lasts for 10 weeks and each session lasts for one hour. School staff and many trusted and committed volunteers support these pupils in this fantastic activity.

Thanks to sponsorship from the Tettenhall RDA there is only a cost of £5.00 per pupil which is excellent value. The children learn how to walk on and halt the horse, trot and steer the horse around the indoor school.

In the summer children 'hack out' on the country roads and nearby fields. As well as being tremendous fun it provides exhilaration and very useful exercise to lots of muscle groups. This helps posture and enhances the quality of life for the children and is a very good workout for the supporting adults!
